COUNTERING STEALTH
As stealth technology improves, there is also a possibility of technology improving to counter this technology. For example, currently, there are high-tech jamming systems which protect air craft-systems from being detected by jamming signals and making the aircraft appear harmless. These sophisticated jamming systems, make use of quantum properties of photons to intercept radar signals, and send back false information. However, just as these jamming systems are developed, new technologies have also been developed to counter this evasion. An example would be a recent technology developed to counter these advanced stealth technology, by detecting the quantum signature of photons transmitted to ensure the signal is genuine. Hence, these jamming systems are rendered obsolete in the face of such new technologies. In future, even as stealth technology is further developed, we believe that these may not prove invincible, given that technology to counter this will likely be developed as well.

Another interesting invention that we would love to see to counter stealth, would be a tracking device, as inspired by Harry Potter’s Marauder’s Map (Figure 1), which can track the location and identity of a person wherever they go, regardless of one’s use of an invisibility cloak, or other disguising devices (Polyjuice Potion - which lets the drinker take on the appearance of another person). If possibly replicated in reality, it would be a significant breakthrough in countering stealth technology.
